RO pretreatment tank manufacturer in China — multi-media, quartz sand, activated carbon, softening (resin) and iron-removal filter tanks in stainless steel or FRP for RO plants.
Before water reaches the RO membranes it must be conditioned: suspended solids removed, chlorine stripped, hardness softened. That is the job of the RO pretreatment train — usually a multi-media filter tank, an activated carbon tank and a softening (resin) tank, in that order.
Shandong Ningchuan manufactures pretreatment tanks in both stainless steel (SS304 / SS316) and FRP, in standard sizes such as 1054, 1254, 1665 and 2069 and in custom diameters and heights. Each vessel is built in-house, pressure-tested, and supplied with the right internals — top distributor, bottom laterals and gravel support bed.
We match the tank to your flow rate, raw-water analysis and downstream RO capacity, and supply multi-port or butterfly-valve manifolds so you can backwash, rinse and regenerate without extra piping. Filter media can be supplied with the tanks if required.

The full pretreatment train, vessel by vessel
Layers of anthracite, sand and gravel remove suspended solids and turbidity — the first stage of almost every RO pretreatment train.
Granular activated carbon adsorbs chlorine, organics, colour and odour, protecting the polyamide RO membrane from oxidant damage.
Sodium-form ion-exchange resin removes calcium and magnesium hardness, preventing scale on the RO membrane and extending cleaning intervals.
Catalytic media oxidises and traps dissolved iron and manganese — essential where well or borehole water feeds the RO plant.

An RO pretreatment tank is the filtration vessel placed before the RO membranes to remove what the membranes cannot safely handle: suspended solids, turbidity, chlorine and hardness. A typical train is a multi-media filter, then an activated carbon filter, then a softener. Good pretreatment is the single biggest factor in membrane life.
Most industrial RO plants use three vessels: a multi-media (sand) filter for suspended solids, an activated carbon filter to remove chlorine and organics, and a softening (resin) tank to remove hardness. Where the feed water contains iron or manganese, an iron-removal tank is added. We can supply the whole train as a matched set.
FRP is the economical, corrosion-free choice for sand, carbon and softening duty. Stainless steel is chosen when you need higher pressure or temperature, a sanitary finish, or where FRP is not permitted by the plant spec. We supply both and can advise per vessel.
Yes. We can supply each tank complete with a multi-port automatic valve (or a butterfly-valve manifold), internal distributors and laterals, gravel support bed, and the quartz sand, activated carbon or resin media — so the train is ready to install and commission.
Sizing depends on three things: the RO feed flow rate, the raw-water analysis, and the required contact or backwash velocity. As a rule of thumb the filter vessel is sized for roughly 2–3 times the RO permeate flow. Send us your flow rate and water analysis, and our engineers will size each vessel for you free of charge.
We accept trial orders from 1 piece. Standard tanks ship in about 10–20 working days; custom sizes take 20–30 working days. Send your flow rate, feed-water analysis and available space for a sized recommendation and quote.
